Marie Ohlinger attends the Iowa All-State Festival

posted Nov 20, 2017, 2:18 PM by TC Administrator

On November 16th-18th, the IHSMA held its annual All-State Music Festival in Ames.  There were 5,037 students who auditioned to be a part of this elite group.  Up until this year, Tri-Center has only had 3 students accepted into the instrumental part of the festival in the school's history.  Marie was accepted on alto-sax, and she was a part of the amazing 275 member band.  This was an incredible opportunity for Marie to perform with similarly skilled musicians playing very difficult music at exceptional level.  This was a once in a lifetime experience, and we are very proud of Marie!

The Tri-Center Trojan Marching Band traveled to Glenwood to participate in the IHSMA State Marching Contest.  The band had a fantastic performance that resulted in their 20th Division I in a row.  This awesome performance ended a successful competition season that resulted in several 1st place finishes.  The band will have one more performance this Friday at our last home football game where we will also be honoring our senior band members!  The band would like to thank all the parents who volunteered to help carry pit equipment, provide food, and were there to cheer us on to successful performances!  We couldn't do it without you!
